Biography
The artist Noura Ricciardi was born in Beirut and lived there through the upheavals of civil war until moving to Paris in 1975. Raised in the whirlwind of cultures in Lebanon, trained as lawyer in a nation without law, with a brief stint as a national high jumping champion, Noura turned from the sad reality of leaving her country to studying architecture and making beautiful buildings in France.
The artist spent years voraciously collecting and consuming art before turning to the paintbrush. As a portrait artist, Noura specializes in playing with the Ciara obscura, second only to her real pursuit of “finding the likeness.” Noura’s painting lure in the viewer, with just the right touch of melancholy and nostalgia.
